3-Dimensional Paintings: These were all done 1967-68 when—via the Illinois Council for the Arts—Margo was made a Visiting Professor at the University of Southern Illinois, Carbondale, IL. Her workspace was called the 'Factory Studio'. These would show at Banfer Gallery in Manhattan.
First photo: "Leaf Hut" is the title of the large, 2-panel piece leaning against the wall directly behind the artist, and—from left to right—the other large pieces are "Butterfly Chair" (three panels), "Love Carpet" (four panels), and—on the far right—"RRX" (single panel).
Second photo: Margo, in front of "Leaf Hut"
Third photo: The large piece leaning against the wall is titled "Windows"
Fourth photo: Contact sheet.
NOTE: THERE ARE SEVERAL MORE PHOTOS OF THE ARTIST AND HER 3-D PAINTINGS, AFTER THE JUMP. (Click on "Continue reading "Three-Dimensional Paintings," immediately below.)
