Parents: Clarence W. Hoff (carpenter) and Ada A. Hayes

Second child in family of 8 (6 brothers). Childhood and early education in Tulsa Oklahoma. Summers with grandparents in the Ozarks, Missouri.

Career

1944 began exhibiting at Art Institute of Chicago, and at Palmer House Galleries, Chicago, IL

1950 - 60 exhibited paintings and prints in shows around the USA; one-man show at Wildenstein Galleries, Paris, France (1955)

1960 moved permanently to New York City, became part of Banfer Gallery Group, NY

1960 - 2003 exhibited throughout the US and abroad

Media

While Margo Hoff is primarily known for canvas collage paintings, oil paintings, and prints, she has worked in many other media, including: book and magazine illustration, sculpture, costume and set design, ceramics, mosaics, theater slide projections, tapestry and rug design.
